___ VISUAL LANGUAGE TIMES THREE ___
If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people. NHAT HANH
I was born into the most remarkable and eccentric family I could possibly have hoped for. I know that five generations of my family were and are driven to create, to make visible, and most important, to give worth. JEANELLE MCCALL
Each portrait tells not how the person looks but gives hints of their inner being. Using simple symbols, without extensive explanation, it can evoke profound emotions and memories. These symbols can fuel our imagination, bringing color and strength to our understanding of the subject.

HOPE Birds symbolize key aspects of spirituality. They symbolize freedom, expansiveness, and keen vision.

ENLIGHTENMENT Sunflowers can grow tall and strong even in adverse conditions, making them symbols of longevity and resilience. The sunflower can also be seen as a symbol of enlightenment, spiritual awakening, and personal growth. Its bright yellow petals and radiant energy are thought to bring positivity and joy into people's lives.

REBIRTH A powerful beacon of growth and new beginnings, the butterfly signifies the power of transformation and the incredible feats we can achieve when we trust ourselves.
___ GREEN VASE ___

GREEN VASE 16x20 , stretched canvas, oil, wax finish
I am happy to share my latest artwork titled “Green Vase.” This vibrant and expressive painting captures a standing figure adorned in a flowing green garment, with light-colored hair styled neatly. Set against a background of dark, rich colors that suggest a garden or floral environment, the piece features abstract forms of flowers in beautiful shades of pink. Through loose, dynamic brushstrokes, I aimed to achieve a textured and impressionistic effect that breathes life and emotion into the scene.
“Green Vase” was inspired by the concept of a vase that holds fleeting beauty, symbolizing the transient nature of life, while also anticipating the arrival of new beauty to fill it once again. The process behind this painting was particularly unique, as it involved a deep exploration of color and abstraction, allowing me to blend abstract elements seamlessly with recognizable forms to evoke a sense of vibrancy and emotional depth.
I hope this artwork resonates with you and invites you to reflect on the cycles of beauty and renewal in life.

My mood changes as often as the color fades from a flower.
I go from amazed and extraordinary to a subtle and rich comfortable feeling.

____PEACE SERIES___
I was overwhelmed thinking about preparing for the first Art Walk of the Year.
To much. I thought about backing out. - note cards, fiber art pieces, purses, clutches, linocut art prints, pastel, acrylic, oil, mixed media, collages, large pieces, small pieces, art from my books, my books!
When I feel that way, I’ve learned to sit back, be still, listen and wait. As a reward for my practice of patience, calm and peace replaced my concern.
I know what I can do now. I know what I want to share. No message could be more clear.
FINDING PEACE will be the first series of 2023.
Even though oil paint takes longer to dry, my emotions come to life through the complex layers of paint. The substrate should be a comfortable size, not overwhelming, just a gentle reminder of a peaceful sentiment.
Each painting is 8" x 8" on a birch wood cradle, oil and cold wax. Roll over the images to find their unique stories.

CONSTANT 8” x 8”, oil & cwm, wood cradle Uninterrupted waves. I am fortified by consistency. Unfailing peace. Peace comes from a constant source that never varies. My peace comes from constant belief in purpose and devotion to our Heavenly Father. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. —Anthony Robbins
